The New Twistee Treat Location Is Taking Shape at Pinellas Plaza!
Expected Opening in Spring of 2026
If you’ve driven by Pinellas Plaza, you may have spotted a familiar sight, the iconic Twistee Treat coneshaped building rising into view. Construction on this classic Florida softserve spot is progressing quickly, and excitement is building as the structure begins to take final shape. With each new step, the Twistee Treat team moves closer to bringing their full, nostalgic experience to The Villages community.
Following a site plan recommendation by Special Magistrate Lindsay C.T. Holt in late 2025, crews have moved quickly to transform the half-acre site. The 583-square-foot facility is currently in its final stages, with work focusing on the exterior finishing touches and the surrounding infrastructure
The completed site will offer feature an outdoor patio equipped with tables and a bench. To accommodate high traffic along the County Road 466A corridor, the facility features a dedicated drive-through lane and 17 parking spaces.
Once open, it will provide a closer option for local residents who currently have to travel to the nearest location in Tavares.
A Place to Make Memories
Twistee Treat’s signature cone has been a part of Florida communities for decades, and soon that nostalgic dessert favorite will be serving up sweetness in The Villages. Imagine spending the afternoon at the pool, visiting town squares, or spending time with the grandkids, and finishing the day with a golf car ride to Twistee Treat for a softserve cone. It’s the kind of easy stop that fits naturally into a full day of fun, turning simple moments into sweet memories shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
The classic menu at the chain features soft-serve cones, cups, “twirls,” and specialty items like waffle tacos and brownie boat cups. While an exact opening date hasn’t been finalized, the project is moving toward a final shape with expectations of serving sundaes and shakes later this year. Specialties include the brownie boat cup, cookiewich and waffle tacos.
Besides cones and cups, Twistee Treat also offers twirls, slushies, freezes, shakes, malts and sprinkle-covered sundaes.

The iconic cone structure is now in place, giving residents and visitors a first look at what’s to come. As the final stages continue, and the Twistee Treat team puts finishing touches on this new location in The Villages, offering a welcoming location designed to bring people together.
